Tragic results due to lack of an early diagnosis
by anonymous

"I am 43 and was diagnosed as bipolar non-specific about 2 years ago. Had my proper diagnosis occurred when I was a child I may not have gone through all of the following as a child:
inadequate bonding, seperation anxiety in childhood, emotional repression/inhibition, and the sexual abuse of which I had no control over.

The best thing I can suggest to you and everyone in the group that you are forming is to read the text written by Paul Foxman, Ph, D. titled Dancing with Fear."

**Note from FKMAD: Thank you so much for taking time to share your words with us. I am sorry that this is your story but thank you for sharing it with us. We all have very bad days where we doubt what we are doing, but it is a message like this that can remind us that because we are doing all we can for our children, they will be able to avoid some of the resulting troubles their disorders could lead to.
