March 2008
Got Inc.? We do! We are now officially Families of Kids with Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Inc. We send a very special "thank you" to Linda J. Mason, CPA, MBA from Sarasota, Florida for all of her help in our formation as a non-profit corporation! We encourage Florida families to contact Linda if you are in need of one fantastic accountant! You may reach her office at 941-927-2201.
March 2008 finds us moving forward filing for 501(c)3 status which will allow us many more opportunities for moving forward with FKMAD goals, such as providing support for families and pediatric intake facilities in times of crisis and hospitalization.
Mood Disorder and Anxiety Disorder Awareness Cards are now available through our website! Both cards are designed for parents of children and teens. Cards have color fronts and black and white backs and help to empower parents while educating the community.

GREATER TORONTO CANADA AREA NEWS By Darlene Wierski-Devoe, FKMAD Regional Contact Volunteer for the Greater Toronto Area
The first Greater Toronto Area meeting is scheduled for Saturday March 29th, 2008.
This first meeting is about introductions, about discovering common ground, asking questions and finding out what everyone would like to get out of this group.
Filming of the documentary "Children with Social Anxiety" has been completed and we are anxiously awaiting the final product. I will post it when I receive it from the journalist.

“Here's a video clip of our wonderful daughter and me! Thought you might like to see how very proud we are of S. To imagine that she'd dawn a snowsuit, hat, mitts, helmet and skates, which from a sensory perspective is a virtual nightmare. If you can imagine, this was only her second time on the ice! These are the little triumphs that make a parent proud and encourage them in knowing that all the hard work, tears and hardship is worth it in the end!”
2/2/08 Tampa, FL. We are proud to have had representation at Brainstorming Council II presented by Mental Health America of Greater Tampa Bay, Inc. The focus was on education about and organizing support for funding and implementation of the Florida Supreme Court's Report on Transforming our Mental Health System.
